Blackpool Hospital goes Green
with cycle-safe® lockers
|
When Blackpool Victoria Hospital replaced an old, metal bicycle shed with 20 stylish, high security cycle-safe® bicycle lockers they proved to be a great a hit with staff - in fact all 20 were allocated in the first two days of the programme's official opening. Since then, the demand from cycling staff wanting their own lockers has increased, so in March 2000 a further 16 lockers were installed to satisfy demand - making it the largest cycle-safe® site in the UK to date. For a modest monthly charge of £2.16 (inc. vat) staff have a safe place to leave their bikes and belongings. As Carol Molyneux, Hotel Services Manager says: "Our Healthy Transport Plan anticipates a steady increase in cycle commuting to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, for which reason we believe that high quality cycle storage lockers will continue to make an important contribution." |
